MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) — There will be a special election for an empty State Assembly seat. Governor Scott Walker announced the 99th District seat held by Chris Kapenga of Delafield will have a special election September 29th, and if there are enough candidates, a primary on September 1st.
Kapenga recently won election to the State Senate. Potential candidates can start circulating paperwork for nomination immediately. The paperwork must be turned in by August 4th.
