MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – An Illinois man is sent to prison for life, right after a jury finds him guilty of killing a drug dealer and robbing him of thousands of dollars in Madison.
A Dane County jury finds 43-year-old Marcius Lee guilty of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 46-year-old Robert France last July.
Authorities say France had driven from his Portland Oregon home to Madison to sell marijuana, with up to $40,000 in his possession.
Prosecutors say Lee shot France — and Lee was carrying about $38,000 when he was arrested four days later near Chicago.
The defense claims the evidence is uncertain, and another witness is more likely to have committed the killing.
