BRISTOL, WI (WTAQ) – A pilot’s cellphone signal helps Kenosha County authorities find a missing plane that crashes and kills two men.
Sheriff’s officials report finding the phone signal in the wreckage of the Zenith CH-601 near Bristol Sunday, about 20 hours after the craft is due to arrive at the EAA show 125 miles to the north.
There are no injuries reported on the ground, and several nearby buildings escape damage.
Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth says the victims are apparently from Indiana or Kentucky. He says the craft appeared to be in major distress while heading down vertically.
Federal officials continue to investigate.
