(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers hope to rediscover their offense tonight, when they open a three-game series against the Giants in San Francisco. Milwaukee is coming off a cold series at red-hot Arizona in losing three-of-four — getting shutout in back-to-back games for the first time since April of 2013 — and going 0-for-16 with runners in scoring position in those two losses. This comes after Milwaukee had registered the Majors’ best on-base-plus-slugging percentage — .859 from July first until last Thursday. The Brewers have scored almost six runs per game this month, until averaging just one-point-two runs in their contests against the Diamondbacks. Despite the sudden power shutdown, the last-place Brewers still find themselves just a game-and-a-half behind fourth-place Cincinnati in the National League Central — so a resurgence could get the Crew out of the cellar for the first time since April 13th. Kyle Lohse starts for Milwaukee tonight against the Giants’ Chris Heston.
