MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) – Milwaukee’s Manpower Group reports a 16 percent increase in its latest quarterly earnings.
However, the international job-staffing company is among many that had lower sales revenues, due to a surging value of the U.S. dollar and relatively weaker foreign currencies.
Had that not been the case, Manpower said its stockholder earnings would have been 13 cents higher per share. As it was, earnings rose from $1.25 per share in the final quarter of 2013, to $1.47 a share last October through December.
Manpower’s net income rose from $101 million the previous year, to $117 million in the final quarter of 2014. That included a re-structuring charge of $19 million, or 24 cents a share. Manpower has been updating its business model to reflect the larger number of people who look for jobs online.
