ASHLAND, Wis (WSAU-Wheeler News) A car driver was injured when he rear-ended a school bus with 45 students near Ashland. Nobody on the bus was hurt in the crash, which occurred at 3:50 yesterday afternoon about six miles south of Ashland on Highway 13.
Ashland County sheriff’s officials said the bus was stopped to let a student out. It had its red lights flashing when a car struck the rear of the bus and slid under it, trapping the driver. Rescuers freed the man and flew him to a hospital in Duluth Minnesota. His condition was not immediately disclosed.
The State Patrol is helping sheriff’s deputies investigate the mishap.
