MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – The state Senate’s Education Reform Committee will hold a public hearing next Tuesday on its version of a school accountability package.
Unlike the Assembly version, Senate Republicans are not insisting on sanctions for low performing schools.
Also, the Senate measure would not give letter grades to schools, or let private school voucher students choose from multiple tests.
The Assembly version is being revised after lawmakers heard lots of opposition to force failing schools to close, and re-open as independent charter schools.
