Smart-Asset, a financial services Web site, ranks Superior as the most affordable place in Wisconsin. According to the survey, Superior has low mortgage payments, insurance fees, and property taxes as a percentage of the local median income.
Marinette is ranked second in the Smart-Asset survey, followed by Antigo, Merrill, Berlin, New London, Two Rivers, Wisconsin Rapids, Beloit, and Little Chute.
Nationally, Superior is ranked as the 57th most affordable place to live. Five of the 10 cheapest places are in Texas. Mesquite is Number-One.
