(WNFL)- Milwaukee Brewers’ third baseman Aramis Ramirez says he’ll probably retire after this season. He’ll turn 37 on June 25th. Ramirez is starting his 18th Major League campaign, and his fourth with Milwaukee. His three-year contract expired after last season, but he exercised his option for a fourth-year instead of testing the waters in free agency. Ramirez told reporters at Spring Training today that he didn’t want a multi-year contract, and he’s comfortable playing with Milwaukee. He said he needs spend more time with his family, which includes three children. Ramirez has played around leg injuries the past two years. He batted .285 in 2014 with 15 homers and 66 RBI’s, and was elected by fans for the first time to start the All-Star Game where he had two hits and scored a run for the National League squad in Minneapolis. Ramirez is sixth all-time among Major League third basemen with 365 career homers. Brewers’ GM Doug Melvin said he anticipated that Ramirez would retire after this season. Ramirez says his goal is to play 140 to 145 games this year.
