(WNFL)- It’s National Signing Day, and the Wisconsin football team received 21 written commitments by the noon hour. The Badgers were expected to add 20 scholarship players, and that’s how many the school listed on its Web site. There were 19 freshmen, plus junior college transfer Serge Trezy, a defensive back. New Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst also accepted two walk-ons, linebacker Ty DeForest of Marshall and receiver Noah Stengel of Sheboygan North. Brown Deer quarterback Zack Baun was listed as a scholarship defensive player at outside linebacker. Bay Port quarterback Alec Ingold was listed as an inside linebacker. That left two quarterback signings, Alex Hornibrook of West Chester Pennsylvania and Austin Kafentzis of Sandy Utah. Linebacker Jordan Griffin of Florida signed with Vanderbilt instead of the Badgers, to whom he committed in October. Chryst was scheduled to hold a mid-afternoon news conference to comment on his first recruiting class. He was hired in mid-December to replace the departed Gary Andersen.
