RACINE, WI (WTAQ) – A former prison worker from Racine has been sentenced to two years behind bars, for stalking and threatening more than a dozen women.
Authorities say 45-year-old William Crockett sent threatening text messages — and among the recipients were a female Racine police officer and a female deputy investigating the case.
At his sentencing Monday, Crockett admitted his actions and said he didn’t want to go to jail.
He must spend 18 years under extended supervision, after a plea deal which convicted him of stalking and 4 counts of sending obscene or threatening computer messages.
Before the incidents began, Crockett worked in two state prison facilities in Racine County and was a shopping mall security guard.
