MADISON, Wis. (WSAU-Wheeler News) — Paul Chryst probably feels like he’s at home. Wisconsin Badgers players likely hope that’s the case.
His arrival this season means the team is adjusting to its third new coach since 2012, its fourth if you include Barry Alvarez coaching bowl games.
Chryst played at Wisconsin, was an assistant for eight seasons and has returned after three years leading the Pitt Panther program. He says a lot of his coaching philosophy comes from Alvarez, the athletic director and legendary former coach. He says he was happy at Pitt and wouldn’t have left for any other job other than coaching Wisconsin.
