MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – Governor Scott Walker has led most of the Republican presidential polls in neighboring Iowa, until now.
The first CNN/ORC poll in Iowa shows Ben Carson ahead of Walker, who’s in 3rd place with 9 percent. Carson is at 14 percent, and Donald Trump leads at 22.
Two-thirds of Iowans are not sure who they’ll support as the February first caucuses get closer.
USA Today and Suffolk University also released its first Iowa poll this week. It shows Trump at 17 percent, and Walker at 12. However, they reflect Iowa Republicans in general — as opposed to the limited numbers who will take part in the caucuses.
Walker says any race has “ebbs and flows,” and he expects his numbers to go “up and down.”
Walker still has a positive image among Iowans. 73 percent in the USA Today poll give Walker a favorable rating, compared to just 45 percent for Trump.
