MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – Chris Kapenga will be sworn in Thursday as Wisconsin’s newest state senator.
The Delafield Republican will officially resign from the Assembly Wednesday, after winning a special election last month for the Senate post vacated by Republican Paul Farrow.
Meanwhile, 4 people have filed nomination papers for Kapenga’s old Assembly seat. No Democrats filed by Tuesday’s deadline in an overwhelmingly GOP district in Waukesha County.
Ex-U.S. Senate hopeful Dave Westlake, town board member Cindi Duchow, limousine driver Spencer Zimmerman, and Scott Owens of Dousman are all running in a Republican primary on September 1st.
