The Brewers' slide has hit seven games. The Chicago Cubs beat Milwaukee 7-1 at Wrigley Field Tuesday night, dropping the Brewers two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals. Milwaukee got off to a rocky start with Elian Herrera committing two errors in the first inning as the Cubs scored four times off Yovani Gallardo. A two run homer by Arismendy Alcantara broke it wide open later. Milwaukee's only run came in the third on a Ryan Braun RBI single. Gallardo (8-8) gave up a season high 7 runs on 8 hits in five innings. Jake Arietta got the win for Chicago. The Brewers have scored only 14 runs in the seven game slide. They'll send Matt Garza to the mound in the series finale Wednesday night. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:35 PM on WTAQ.
Carlos Gomez may be out of the lineup for a couple of weeks after an MRI revealed a bad wrist sprain suffered in San Francisco. The All-Star centerfielder might still be available to pinch run but won't swing a bat until next week.
