The Milwaukee Brewers continue to search for offense and a way to get Rule 5 draft pick Wei-Chung Wang more experience. Both came up empty Monday night in a 9-3 series opening loss to the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field. The Brewers offense consisted of a two run home run from Khris Davis in the 5th inning and a solo shot from Ryan Braun in the 8th. That brought Milwaukee to within 4-3 but Wang gave up five runs in the bottom of the 8th as Atlanta coasted to the victory. Wang gave up a two run homer to Justin Upton and a pinch hit solo blast from Ryan Doumit, among the four hits and two walks in just two thirds of inning. Because he was selected in the Rule 5 draft from Pittsburgh, he must stay on the active roster. It's getting painful as the youngster's ERA has swelled to 17.61 on the year. Wily Peralta started but gave up single runs in each of the first three innings, inlcuding a home run from Freddie Freeman. Peralta lasted five frames but gave up nine hits with four walks. The Brewers have dropped three straight overall and a 27-18, their lead over the St. Louis Cardinals is down to three and a half games in the NL Central. The series resumes Tuesday night with Yovani Gallardo facing Julio Teheran. Pre-Game coverage begins at 5:35 PM on WTAQ.
