APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - A man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into an Appleton house late Monday night.
Cops were called for a report of an unknown person inside someone's home around 11:15 p.m. The suspect had left the house in the 100 block of East Franklin Street and was seen on a bicycle nearby.
An officer found a man in the area of Appleton and West Franklin Streets within minutes who matched the description the caller gave. When the cop tried to contact the man; the suspect took his hand off the bike he was pushing and put it in his jacket pocket while continuing to approach the officer.
Police say the officer told him to stop and pull his hand out of his pocket, but he refused. The officer then used a Taser on him. The 28-year-old Appleton man was arrested, but not injured.
Investigators say they found on the suspect property belonging to the residents of the E. Franklin Street home. Residents also identified the man, as well as items stolen from their house and their vehicle.
The suspect was also carrying 12 Xbox video games. Police are not sure at this time where those came from as he did not speak to investigators.
