The Green Bay Gamblers compelted two days of drafting on Tuesday by selecting 19 players in the USHL draft. Monday was spent signing up players with 1998 birthdays for future considerations. After dealing away their first round pick for Connor Hurley mid-season, the Gamblers made another deal Tuesday to get an additional second round choice. Head Coach and General Manager Derek LaLonde said he was "esctatic" to draft forward Brian Bowen, a University of Vermont recruit from Littleton, Massachussetts 22nd overall, and then Joseph Wegworth, a forward from the Team USA under 18 squad. Green Bay also selecte twin brothers Nick and Jack Poehling from Lakeville North High School in Minnesota. The only local product drafted was Trenton Bliss from the Appleton United team. In all, the Gamblers took 12 forwards, six defensemen and one goaltender.
It was a banner day for Green Bay's Notre Dame High School as a record four Tritons were selected by USHL teams, led by Mason Appleton, the third overall choice in the first round by the Tri-City Storm. Also taken were Luke Davison, Brett Gruber and Collin Appleton.
