State Senate president calling for removal of Bill Kramer over sexual assault charges

MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) -- State senate president Mike Ellis wants the former second in command of the Assembly out of office.

Ellis is calling for the removal of Representative Bill Kramer following charges of second degree sexual assault. The charges stem from an incident three years ago where he was charged of sexually assaulting a political aide. Ellis calls the charges a black eye on the Republican Party, and says if convicted, Kramer should be thrown out of office.

Kramer was already in the spotlight after being removed as majority leader of the Assembly after he was accused of groping and harassing women on a trip to Washington DC.

Kramer has already stated he won't be running for reelection.
