Sheboygan police search for purse snatcher

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ) - Police in Sheboygan say a man pushed a woman and forcefully stole her purse early Saturday morning.

Authorities say it happened at the Walgreens store, 1029 N. 14th Street, around 2 a.m.

The 48-year-old Sheboygan woman was leaving the store when the man came up to her, pushed her and ripped her purse away, according to police.

The victim told the cops she saw him standing by a Redbox DVD Rental machine when she arrived.

The woman said she left the store, and was walking to her vehicle when the suspect asked her a question, then ran towards her, pushed her to the ground and took the purse from her arm.

Police say the man ran around the north side of the building and then headed east.

Officials describe the suspect as light skinned. He is believed to be 5’6″ to 6′ tall weighing 145-155 lbs. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the Sheboygan Police Dept. at (920) 459-3333.
