Kettle Moraine Lutheran captured it's first WIAA state title beating top ranked and unbeaten Neilsville 28-23 in the Division 3 championship this afternoon. It was the lowest scoring title game in state history as both teams made only seven baskets each. Neillsville made just 7 of 46 shots (15%) while the Chargers made 7 of 33 (21%). KML coach Jason Walz said it was like a trip to the dentist but the end result was awfully pretty. Neillsville coach John Gaier joked they could have brought back peach baskets for this one. It was just 3-3 after the first quarter and the Warriors only managed one free throw in the third quarter. Both teams finished 27-1 on the season.
