JACKSON, WI (WTAQ) - A southeastern Wisconsin town and a pipeline company has reached an agreement on the cost to investigate the town’s well.

Illinois-based West Shore Pipe Line Company will reimburse the Village of Jackson over $21,000 to investigate the benzene contaminated well in 2013, just ten months after a pipeline ruptured and spilled over 54,000 gallons of gasoline in Washington County.

The well was out of commission until water samples gave the all clear in December of last year. The pipeline company insists the short-term contamination was not linked to the spill.
