In a curioius end around, the new owner of the Milwaukee Bucks has reached out to the Brooklyn Nets in an attempt to lure Jason Kidd to become the new head coach. Marc Lasry was a former minority owner of the Nets who, with a partner, purchased the Milwaukee Bucks. Lasry apparently asked the Nets for permission to talk to Kidd about moving to Milwaukee with a second round draft pick offered up as compensation. Kidd finished his first year of coaching last season, after a rough start, guided Brooklyn to the playoffs where they were eliminated by the Miami Heat in the second round. The move reportedly caught General Manager John Hammond and current Bucks coach Larry Drew by surprise and the deal hasn't been finalized. The Bucks issued a statement that said in part, regardless of what happens, the team is prepared to move forward, apparently with or without Kidd.
