Brewers sweep Rockies

The Milwaukee Brewers capped off a 6-1 road trip with a three game series sweep of the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field Sunday, winning 6-5.   It was a wild weekend in Denver.  Milwaukee outslugged the Rockies 13-10 in the opener on Friday, they won 9-4 on Saturday thanks to a wild pitch that resulted in three Milwaukee runs.    On Sunday, Aramis Ramirez and Lyle Overbay hit home runs to offset a sub-par start from Kyle Lohse. He worked five innings, giving up seven hits and three runs but still got the win to improve to 9-2.  The bullpen allowed the Rockies to close the gap with single runs in the 8th and 9th but Francisco Rodriguez was able to close it out for his major league leading 25th save.  Milwaukee has the best road record in baseball at 27-15 and they are now 47-30 overall, the top record in the National League and only a half game behind Oakland for the best record in all of baseball.  The Brewers return home with a five and a half game lead in the NL Central, they host the NL East leading Washington Nationals in a three game series.  Matt Garza will face Gio Gonzalez in the opener Monday night.  Pre-Game coverage begins at 6:35 PM on WTAQ.
