Milwaukee Marquette, Waukesha Catholic Memorial and Fondu Lac St. Mary’s Springs captured team championships at the WIAA State Golf Meet at University Ridge on Tuesday.
Marquette won the Division 1 crown with a 598 score, 8 strokes ahead of Middleton. Kaukauna finished third while Bay Port wound up 7th and Notre Dame finished 12th.
The D1 medalist was Emmet Herb of Middleton who fired a -6, 138 to win by a convincing seven shots. The top local finisher was Issac Prefontaine of Preble who tied for 21st.
In Division 2, Catholic Memorial rallied with strong second round to beat Madison Edgewood by 12 shots. Xavier came in fourth with Marinette 6th.
Matt Bachman of Sheboygan Falls was medalist at +3, 147.
In Division 3, Springs easily won the team trophy, finishing 27 shots ahead of Cochrane-Fountain City. Tyler Leach of Spring Valley was medalist at +2, 146.
