Green Bay man arrested for OWI after crash injures 3 people

HOWARD, WI (WTAQ) - Authorities in Brown County say a man was arrested Sunday for alleged drunk driving following a two-vehicle crash on northbound Highway 41.

Police say it happened around 12:30 p.m. near Lineville Road in the village of Howard.

An SUV driving the wrong way in the northbound lanes slammed into a Ford Fiesta nearly head-on.

Authorities say a 47-year-old Green Bay man was the only one in the SUV at the time. The car was driven by an 18-year-old female, and included an 11-year-old Green Bay area girl and a 40-year-old man from Tennessee.

The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital, while the two girls were taken by ambulance. Cops say all three suffered non-life threatening injuries. The 18-year-old missed her graduation ceremony due to the accident. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.

The SUV driver was arrested on 3 counts of Causing Injury by Operating a Motor Vehicle while Under the Influence. The crash is still under investigation.

The northbound lanes of Highway 41 were shut down for about three-and-a-half hours due to the crash.
