Reynolds wraps leads a sweep

by

Mark Reynolds woke from his summer long slumber by lumbering 2 home runs in Milwaukee's 5-1 victory over Cincinnati Wednesday afternoon as the Brewers completed a three game sweep of the Reds.  Reynolds saw his batting average finally climb above .200 with a three hit game, hitting his first homer since early June.  A two run shot off Mike Leake in the sixth gave the Crew a 4-1 lead and he added a solo shot in the 8th off Jumbo Diaz to finish the scoring.  Reynolds now shares the team lead with 16 home runs.  Kyle Lohse picked up his 11th win of the year against four losses working six and two thirds innings, giving up a run on four hits.  He also singled in the fifth and came all the way around to barely beat a throw at the plate following a Carlos Gomez triple to right past the outstretched glove of Jay Bruce.  That tied the game at 1 and Ryan Braun put the Brewers on top for good with an RBI infield single.  Minor league call Jeremy Jeffress pitched a 1,2,3 ninth for Milwaukee.  The Brewers improved to 57-45 and lead both Pittsburgh and St. Louis by 2 and a half games in the division.  The Reds are now 0-6 since the All Star break and are five and a half games out.  The Brewers welcome the New York Mets for a four game series beginning Thursday night with Matt Garza facing Dillon Gee.  Pre-Game coverage begins at 6:35 PM on WTAQ.
