Not sure if it was colder outside or inside the Resch Center Sunday as the Green Bay Phoenix found a way to win their 12th straight game, 62-52 over visiting Detroit before 5503 noisy fans. The Phoenix managed only 13 made baskets, shooting 28.3% from the floor but they got to the free throw line, making 34 of 41 attempts. Kiefer Sykes led the way with 22 points as Green Bay fell behind by six early in the second half but put up a strong defensive finish. The Titans didn't make a field goal over the final 8:57 of the game. Greg Mays recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while Carrington Love added 10 points. Alec Brown made just 1 of 7 shots and had to leave the game with just over five minutes remaining when he got tangled with a Detroit player and injured his left shoulder. He'll be examined again on Monday. Green Bay improves to 17-3 overall and 7-0 in the Horizon League. The Phoenix are up by three games in the loss column over Cleveland State, Wright State and Youngstown State. Green Bay travels to Valparaiso on Wednesday night.
