MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The flu bug is rapidly spreading across the state, prompting state health officials to remind Wisconsinites about preventative spread measures.
According to a weekly influenza report from the CDC, the illness is widespread across the state. It's mainly the common A and B strands causing the bulk of the illnesses.
Health officials say it’s important to keep your hands away from your eyes or nose, while keeping them washed or sanitized.
If you have the flu, cover your face when coughing or sneezing and properly wash or sanitize hands. Better yet, health officials suggest staying home to prevent spreading the flu.
If you have not received a flu shot, a CDC spokesperson says it’s not too late to get one.
