Make it 11 straight for the Green Bay Phoenix. Back at the Resch Center for the first time since January 4, the Phoenix pulled away late to beat Horizon League newcomer Oakland 83-69 before 2569 fans. Leading by 7 at the half, the Phoenix had a stretch of missed free throws and turnovers and fell behind by 5 with 10:19 to play. That's when junior guard Kiefer Sykes took over. He scored 18 of his game high 27 points the rest of the way. Sophomore guard Carrington Love notched a career high 17 points and Alec Brown added 15. Green Bay shot 50 percent from the floor while Oakland to 39.7 percent. The Grizzlies' leading scorer, Travis Bader, nearing the NCAA Division 1 record for three point field goals and attempts, was held to 8 points on 2 of 11 shooting from beyond the arc before fouling out. GB finished 23 of 34 from the line, making five more free throws than Oakland attempted. Now 16-3 and 6-0 in the Horizon League, Green Bay returns to the Resch Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM to meet the Detroit Titans.
