CRANDON, WI (WTAQ) - A Crandon woman will not go to jail for running an unlicensed daycare center where her son admitted molesting young kids.
62-year-old Nancy Anderson was put on two years' probation Wednesday, after she pleaded guilty to three Forest County charges of not having a state license. Four counts of child neglect were dropped in a plea deal.
Prosecutors said she was away running errands last year while her son molested four children ages 4 to 6.
A judge said Anderson could only watch over kids to whom she's related -- and she must perform 100 hours of community service.
Her son, 39-year-old William Anderson, has pleaded guilty to a charge of repeated child sex assault, plus four felony counts of exposure. Another sex assault charge was dropped in a plea deal, and he'll be sentenced on February 18th.
