LOS ANGELES, CA (WSAU) — A former Green Bay Packers All-Pro safety has been arrested on suspicion of rape in Los Angeles.
Darren Sharper was arrested Friday and released on $200,000 bail in connection with two sexual assaults that occurred in October and earlier this month in the West Los Angeles area.
The New Orleans Police Department is also investigating an allegation of sexual assault filed against Sharper on Sept. 24.
Sharper is scheduled to appear in court February 14th.
The 38-year-old Sharper played 14 seasons in the NFL, mostly with Green Bay. He also played with Minnesota and New Orleans and retired after the 2010 season. He has been suspended from his role as an analyst for the NFL Network without pay until further notice.
