TOMAH, WI (WTAQ) - Authorities in Tomah said a man who accidentally shot himself illegally owned the gun that wounded him.
Authorities got a 911 call Sunday from a man who said he was just shot. The call was disconnected before a second call was placed -- and a dispatcher heard no one on the line.
Tomah Police went to the man's apartment -- and while that was happening, the man went to a hospital.
He was stabilized and then flown to a hospital in La Crosse. His condition was not immediately disclosed.
The incident remains under investigation. Officials said the man was a convicted felon, and he faces a possible charge of illegally possessing a firearm as a felon.
