Coldest weather in nearly two decades across Wisconsin

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Wisconsin is shivering through its coldest weather in almost 18 years.

At mid-afternoon, there was still no place in Wisconsin warmer than 10-below zero. Antigo, Wausau, and Stevens Point were the coldest at 2 p.m., with 19-below. Middleton was the warm spot, if you want to call it that, with minus-10.

Wausau had the coldest wind-chill at 48-below. Everyplace in Wisconsin had wind chills in the minus-30's and 40's.

A number of stores and restaurants have either closed or announced early closures Monday evening -- although some have cold weather specials.

Authorities are urging drivers to be extremely careful about nearly invisible layers of black ice. Numerous accidents have been reported in southeast Wisconsin because of that.

Forecasters expect Monday night's lows to be in the minus-teens and 20's once again.
