MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) -- The deadline for removing ice fishing shelters is approaching quickly.
Department of Natural Resources officials say there are three dates to keep in mind. March 1st is the date to remove shelters from Wisconsin-Minnesota boundary waters. Sunday March 2nd is the last day for all ice shacks south of Highway 64. Sunday March 16th is the last day for shacks north of Highway 64.
The DNR says ice fishing shelters can be used after those deadlines, but they must be portable and removed each day.
