Mike Taylor, who starred at Ashwaubenon High School and then with the University of Wisconsin Badgers, has signed a free agent contract with the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks. Taylor went undrafted coming out of Wisconsin, dealing with a sports hernia injury last summer. He joined the Seahawks practice squad for one week before he was released because of injury issues elsewhere on the roster. Seattle General Manager John Schneider, a Green Bay native, was familiar with Taylor's prep and collegiate career and brought him back on to the roster where he'll compete for a job on the champs this summer. Taylor, along with former De Pere Redbird Drew Nowak with Jacksonville, are the only two Green Bay area high school standouts currently on NFL rosters.
