WAUSAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) - Residents in the Village of Bear Creek are being asked to run their water to keep their pipes from freezing.
Village officials are asking people to run a fast drip or a steady stream of water in one of their home faucets. Utilities officials say they're experiencing frozen laterals in the water system.
Other Northeast Wisconsin communities are also asking their residents to do the same.
In Wausaukee, village leaders there say a stream of cold water from any one faucet inside the home should be about 1/16 inch, or the size of a string of yarn.
According to Wausaukee leaders, customers will not be billed for the extra water use. Bills will be averaged from past usage. Residents can call their village office at (751) 856-5341.
