Make it five straight for the Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team. Shooting just 29% from the floor, Green Bay found itself trailing Valparaiso 26-24 at halftime at the Kress Events Center Monday night. A different team came out of the locker room after intermission. The Phoenix scored the first 14 points of the second half and outscored the Crusaders 46-16 on their way to a resounding 70-42 victory. Breannah Ranger led the way with 16 points, Tesha Buck added 15. Green Bay's defense forced 22 turnovers and had 13 steals. The Phoenix improve to 13-7 on the season and 6-2 in the Horizon League, just one game out of first place at the halfway point of the conference season. The victory was also the 100th for Green Bay since the Kress opened. They will play at UIC on Saturday.
