KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ) - Kaukauna Police are investigating a vandalism spree this past weekend.
"During the evening hours of Friday going into Saturday morning, we were notified by a newspaper delivery person of some smashed mailboxes on the southwest side of Kaukauna," said Kaukauna Police Sgt. Don Krueger. "During that investigation, we discovered we had 33 mailboxes damaged by unknown suspect or suspects."
The areas targeted by the suspects were in the area of W. Ann Street, Fieldcrest Drive, Sullivan Avenue and W. Henry Street.
"We believe a baseball bat or a weapon similar to that was used," says Sgt. Krueger. "Generally it's that later teenage years we've found to do this in the past. A lot of times it's someone driving a vehicle and a passenger using a baseball bat and smashing mailboxes as they drive by."
Kaukauna Police ask that anyone with information should call them at (920) 766-6333 or Crime Stoppers at (920) 788-9090.
Fox Valley Metro Police are investigating similar incidents that happened in Combined Locks early Sunday morning. Three people reported having their mailboxes smashed.
