STEVENS POINT, WI (WTAQ) - After nine hours of deliberation, the trial of an accused social security fraudster was declared a mistrial on Friday.

72-year-old Ronald Disher, of Almond, was charged with felony fraud, forgery and theft charges. He was accused of cashing in 30-years-worth of social security checks belonging to Marie Jost, who was last seen in the 1980s.

The jury did find Disher guilty of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and endangering safety, related to alleged confrontations with a social security investigator.

The Portage County District Attorney’s Office says they plan to seek a new trial.
