WAUPACA, Wis. (WSAU) -- A long-time major employer in Waupaca has been sold.
Waupaca Foundry announced Tuesday that their parent company, KPS Capital Partners, has sold the business to Hitachi Metals LTD based in Japan.
Waupaca Foundry is the largest foundry operation in the world with over 3,900 employees. Company officials say the sale will not affect day to day operations or the employees. CEO Gary Gigante issued a statement saying it will be business as usual for employees, customers, suppliers, and everyone.
The Waupaca Foundry name will be retained and the headquarters will stay in Waupaca.
