Cubs handle Brewers again

Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs roughed up a wounded Kyle Lohse in beating the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 at Wrigley Field Wednesday night.   Lohse gave up two runs on three hits in the first inning and Chicago doubled the lead when Javier Baez and Anthony Rizzo hit back to back home runs in the third.  It was the first at home for the young second basemen while Rizzo dropped his 27th of the year into the basket over the right field fence.  Lohse (11-7) would leave the game after the third with a sore ankle.  He first injured it over a week ago in St. Louis and aggravated the injury while swinging and missing a pitch in the top of the third.  Marco Estrada and the bullpen shut out the Cubs the rest of the way but Milwaukee was held scoreless by Tsuyoshi Wada until the 7th.  Rickie Weeks and Martin Maldanado hit back to back home runs but that would be it for the offense.   The Brewers (66-55) remain a game and a half in front of the Pirates in the NL Central as Detroit beat Pittsburgh 8-4.  The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a game by beating Miami 5-2 and are now two games off the lead.   Mike Fiers will face Edwin Jackson as the Brewers go for a split in the four game series.  Pre-Game coverage begins at 12:45 PM on WTAQ.
