Yovani Gallardo entered Wednesday night's game against the San Francisco Giants with 16 and two-thirds consecutive scoreless innings pitched. It never reached 17 as the Milwaukee Brewers starter gave up three in the first in San Francisco's 7-4 victory at Miller Park. Uncharacteristically wild, Gallardo lasted only four innings and was in trouble in every one, allowing 9 hits, 4 runs and he walked 4 after having issued only four free passes in five starts during July. Marco Estrada held down the fort with three scoreless innings out of the bullpen. The Brewers got solo home runs from Carlos Gomez and Khris Davis plus a two run single by Aramis Ramirez off Ryan Vogelsong to close the gap to 4-3. However the bullpen got touched for three runs in the 8th. Brandon Kintzler gave up a run on two hits and Tom Gorzelany served up a two run homer to Pablo Sandoval. Milwaukee (62-52) held on to it's one game lead over St. Louis as the Cardinals lost to Boston 2-1. The Brewers will send Wily Peralta in search of his 14th victory against Jake Peavy in the series finale Thursday afternoon. Pre-game coveage begins at 12:35 PM on WTAQ.
