GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - It's Tornado & Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin.... get ready for a statewide tornado drill Thursday. The reminders it brings can save your life. Paul Gazdik is the Brown County Emergency Management Director. Gazdik says one of the major points he likes to stress is pay attention to the warning sirens, take cover and have a 72 hour survival kit ready to go. Warnings that don't mention the word tornado need to be taken seriously too. Wisconsin had 16 reported tornados in 2013. July and August are the most active months. Thursday's drill starts with tornado watch at 1pm and a mock warning at 1:45pm.
