The Indiana Ice smothered the Green Bay Gamblers in their own end of the rink to take the critical third game of their USHL Clark Cup Eastern Conference semfinal series 1-0 Thursday night before 1677 fans at the Resch Center. Dennis Smirnov tallied the only goal of the game at 8:31 of the second period. At that point, the Ice had outshot the Gamblers by a stunning 21-3. The final tally was 32-12,, a season low in shots on goal for the Gamblers. A ferocious forechecking team, Indiana kept the Gamblers bottled up in their defensive zone forcing Jared Rutledge to stop 31 of 32 shots. Green Bay has been shutout in both of Indiana's victories in the best of five series. The Gamblers won game two 6-5 last Saturday night on the road and they'll need to find their offense for game four Friday night, now facing elimination. Face off is at 7:05 PM.
