Democratic primary coming in 25th Senate race

by

PARK FALLS, Wis. (WSAU) -- A third candidate would like to replace retiring Senator Bob Jauch, which means there will be a primary election.

Democratic State Representative Janet Bewley of Ashland was first to announce her run for the seat Bob Jauch is giving up after thirty years. Then, Rice Lake businessman Dane Deutsch announced he would challenger Bewley on the Republican ticket. Now, Representative Bewley will have to face a primary battle first. Park Falls Mayor Tom Ratzlaff has entered the race as a progressive Democrat.

It’s the first Senate run for both Bewley and Ratzlaff. Deutsch is making his second run for the Senate, after losing to Jauch in 2010.
