UNDATED (WSAU) -- The Department of Natural Resources is inviting you to take part in the spring fish and game hearings in two weeks.
Area wildlife supervisor Kris Johansen says this is a chance for people to see and discuss upcoming and proposed change to how the DNR does things. "We have rule proposals that the public has an opportunity to come in and comment on, and we also have various rule change proposals from the Conservation Congress." Up for discussion this year are the changes to the 2014 deer hunt, and talks about herd status after the harsh winter.
Johansen says everyone is encouraged to offer their input. "Hunters and anglers of course are some of our main folks who attend, but we want to hear from folks who go to parks, that just enjoy seeing birds and animals and what have you, who are interested in enjoying Wisconsin's natural resources." He says people should treat this like the local government meeting it is and take the time to hear what's going on. "We want to hear from everybody, and the more people that come and provide their input, generally the better off we are at making decisions."
The meetings start Monday April 14 at 7 pm at the following locations.
