The Milwaukee Brewers continued to feast on the Chicago Cubs, routing their division rivals 7-0 Wednesday night at Miller Park. The Brewers put up five runs in the first inning, the big blow, a grand slam home run from Sean Halton. It was his first big league slam, coming less than a week after his first walk off home run. Khris Davis would add a solo shot as Tyler Thornburg continued to impress on the mound. He allowed just two hits through six innings to improve to 3-1. In his six starts late this season, Thornburg has six quality starts, going at least six innings and giving up no more than three runs. His earned run average since joining the rotation is 1.25. The Brewers are now five and a half games clear of the Cubs for last place in the NL Central. Chicago has dropped five in a row while the Brewers pushed their winning streak to four. Milwaukee (68-83) will go for a series sweep today, sending Kyle Lohse to the mound. Pre-Game coverage begins at 12:35 PM on WNFL.
