Lohse retires 23 straight batters in Brewers 5-1 win over Cincinnati

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Milwaukee Brewers starter Kyle Lohse retired 23 consecutive batters in a 5-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds Friday night.

Lohse (10-9) threw nine solid innings; allowing just 4 hits, one run and 5 strikeouts.

Center fielder Carlos Gomez also had an impressive game, going 3-for-4 with 5 RBI – including a two-run single in the 1st inning.

Some bad news, though… Aramis Ramirez left the game in the 1st inning after being hit by a pitch. Team officials say he suffered a contusion to his left wrist and is listed day-to-day.
