Victim's ID released from unusual accident with boat Saturday


NEW LONDON, Wis. (WSAU) - Authorities have released the name of the victim of an unusual accident in Waupaca County over the weekend.

41-year-old James Wall of Orland Park, Illinois died of severe head injuries when he was riding in a boat being towed on a roadway. He was ejected when the boat rolled sideways on the trailer while in motion. Wall was knocked unconscious when he hit the roadway, and was not breathing.

A 13-year-old male from Manhattan, Illinois was also ejected, but was not seriously injured.

The driver of the pickup truck towing the boat was 58-year-old Robert Dyer of Manhattan, Illinois. He was cited for operating while intoxicated.

The accident happened Saturday evening at about 7:30 p.m.
